Premier Doug Ford is fuelling early election speculation.
Ford declined multiple times today to commit to sticking to the planned June 2026 date.
He did, however, say that his plan to expand sales of beer, wine, cider and ready-to-drink cocktails to all grocery stores and eligible convenience stores is being sped up — with the first phase set to happen this summer.
Reporters asked if he was pushing up the original 2026 timeline in order to set the stage for an early election call — but he said that’s not the reason why.
