The Long Point Basin Land Trust has a new Stewardship Manager with a wealth of knowledge and expertise.
Ian Fife will play a crucial role in advancing the land trust’s mission of biodiversity conservation and habitat restoration within its 14 Nature Reserves.
Holding a Master’s Degree in avian ecology with a specialization in Conservation Biology from Trent University, Fife has carried out extensive fieldwork. It has taken him not only across all Ontario forest types but also to prairie, Arctic, Hudson Bay Lowland and Carolinian ecosystems.
Fife will be responsible for overseeing and implementing stewardship programs, monitoring wildlife populations and spearheading habitat restoration projects within the Long Point Basin Land Trust Nature Reserves.
Executive Director at LPBLT, Rick Levick says they are glad to welcome Fife to their team, adding he lives here in Norfolk and is well-known in the local conservation community.
The Long Point Basin Land Trust is a charitable, non-government organization, founded in 1996 with a mission to protect and restore functioning ecosystems in the central Carolinian Region.
