AFFA 4 KIDS recently teamed up with the Norfolk County Public Library to help boost their Adopt-A-Book Campaign.
The ongoing campaign sees community members donate a minimum of $20, and in exchange they get to select a book and have a name added to the inside. The name can be your own, or in dedication to someone else.
To help our local libraries, the Port Dover based group AFFA4KIDS pledged to match donations up to $2500, because they strongly believe in their motto: Our Community Kids Matter.
The community helped raise the $2500, so in total $5000 was raised to buy books for children and youth in Norfolk County.
We spoke with Belinda Smith, Virtual Library Coordinator with the NCPL, who had this to say:
“The Norfolk County Public Library has had the honour and privilege to work with the gentlemen from AFFA4Kids for the past few years. Their continuous support of early literacy and the Libraries in Norfolk County has inspired both staff and patron alike! This year’s Adopt-A-Book Challenge was an incredible success thanks to the generosity of AFFA4Kids and our community—what a perfect way to retire our 3-year long campaign! With every nameplate in each book adopted, we hope this mission and vision of AFFA4Kids will continue to remind everyone: Our Community Kids Matter! Thank you, AFFA4Kids!”
