Norfolk County Council will be holding a special meeting next week to once again look at the provinces draft housing pledge.
Last week, our elected officials turned down the recommendation in a Council-in-Committee meeting – with many of our elected officials having concerns about the vague nature of the contract and the fact it is attached to Strong Mayor powers.
Norfolk was chosen by the province as a location to sign on for this pledge, making the county eligible for around $1.5 million a year over the next 3 years if a certain amount of homes are approved each year.
The special council meeting will be held on Monday starting at 2:30 p.m.
