It was a big celebration in Simcoe.
On Friday, the Simcoe Seniors Centre celebrated 50 years in our community with a special event welcoming all current and past members, as well as anyone who may be interested in joining, to stop by their location.
That was Anne Smith, the Head of Special Events with the Simcoe Seniors Centre.
She has been a member for 21 years, and was happy to see all the services on display at this event highlighting the many things happening with the group that has hundreds of people signed on as members.
One of the special guests who showed up was Past President Marie Bowles, who moved away with her husband Don years ago but still keeps close connections with her former Seniors Centre.
Reflecting back on her time here, it was nothing but good memories.
While everyone enjoyed the food and activities, there was still a sense of nostalgia amongst the group.
Many people NorfolkToday spoke to still feel a bit homesick for their former Pond Street location.
