
Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating after a Brant OPP officer discharged an Anti-Riot Weapon Enfield (ARWEN) in a campground on Monday.
Police were called to the Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area follow staff reports of a 46-year-old man that was tresspassing.
At around 2:40 a.m. officers arrived, following an interaction with the man while attempting to arrest him an office fired their ARWEN, striking him twice.
He was then taken to the hospital.
The man did not suffer any injuries, but the SIU becomes involved when an officer discharges a firearm.
