The roll out of a new phone number for Norfolk County has apparently hit a snag.
In a release, the county highlighted that their new 226-NORFOLK number continues to provide a local, toll-free contact for west-end residents.
But, in the same release, it notes that people calling from Port Dover, Simcoe, Waterford, Delhi, and Port Rowan will get flagged with a long distance call.
In a release sent out last month, the County was confident that the new number would avoid any long distance charges across the entire county saying “The new phone number is local across Southern Ontario and means that all residents living in Norfolk County can call 226-NORFOLK without incurring long-distance charges.”
These residents are being advised to continue to call the old number, 519-426-5870.
