
Residents of Haldimand have to opportunity to have their voices heard in regards to the proposed 15,000 dwelling units in Nanticoke.
In a timeline of events regarding this development, Empire Homes first presented to the former Haldimand County Council of February 14, 2022, to propose the new development, which would house 40,000 residents.
On March 1, 2022, a report was presented to council regarding the development. A week later, on the 7 all former members of council voted to support a request for a Minister’s Zoning Order, and the formal request was submitted the next day.
Concerned citizens are raising questions about the development including overcrowding in schools and hospitals already seen locally.
You can register to speak at the meeting that takes place this Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Haldimand County Administration Building.
Those wishing to speak need to register with the clerk no later than 12 p.m. on Wednesday by emailing clerk@haldimandcounty.on.ca or dropping off a request to speak at 53 Thorburn Street South, Cayuga.
