Police have Highway 24 closed off at Old Highway 24 while they are responding to a collision.
Constable Ed Sanchuk posted to social media saying the collision involved a transport truck and SUV just before 2 p.m. on April 12.
Sanchuk credited the driver of the transport truck with saving the life of the SUV driver after taking evasive actions to attempt to avoid the collision.
While the vehicles did collide, Sanchuk believes it would have been a fatal collision without the quick thinking of the driver.
The roadway will be closed for an extended period of time to investigate and clean up leaking diesel from the truck.
The driver of the SUV was transported to a local hospital to be treated for injuries.
