It’s an honour typically reserved for Lions – but sometimes exceptions can be made.
Last week, three individuals received the Lions Club highest award – the Melvin Jones Award.
We spoke to Waterford Lion’s President Mike Jarvis.
Three people were recognized after they put out a cookbook and raised almost $20,000 for Ukraine.
Ann Tchegus, Jackie Hinnells-Earle, and David Douglas each received the award, but it was Jackie who talked to us a bit about how this all got started.
She was blown away to get the award.
David didn’t see this coming as a non-Lions member and was extremely grateful.
And Ann was also amazed.
Ukrainian Cookbook fundraiser had all money raised for towards the war efforts and the Ukrainian relief fund.
