A lightning strike set a house ablaze in Simcoe.
At around 12:30 p.m. on April 5, during a significant thunderstorm, Norfolk County Fire Department responded to a basement fire on Falls Crescent that began after the house was struck by lightning.
Crews were able to gain control of the fire and contain most of the damage to the basement.
The individual that was home made it out of the house along with the two family pets.
The damage is estimated around $150,000.
