The Amazon scam is making it’s rounds in Norfolk County.
On Thursday of last week, a resident contacted police after they received a call from an individual claiming to work for Amazon.
The person advised that there was an issue with the victims account and required remote access through their computer to fix the problem.
Remote access was granted at which time the suspect removed over $6,400 from their financial account.
Police are urging everyone that owns a computer to be very skeptical if you receive a phone call or pop-up message indicating that there are issues with any of your accounts – and DO NOT allow them to access your computer.
