Environment Canada says that conditions are favourable for a prolonged period of significant lake effect snow squalls off Lake Erie beginning tonight and continuing through this weekend.
Extremely dangerous travel is expected within these snow squalls.
It’s estimated that 30 to 60 cm of snow could come down by Sunday morning over Long Point specifically.
Higher amounts are possible in the most persistent snow squalls.
Snow squalls will remain confined to Long Point through Friday, although may affect the remainder of the Lake Erie shoreline on Saturday.
