It was a special night in Delhi.
The Delhi & District Chamber Of Commerce Gala and Awards night saw several individuals honoured for what they have brought to Delhi and the surrounding area – whether it be individually or as a businesses.
The Business of the Year award went to Dennis’ Horseradish with the three Mark’s being honoured -Mark Whitmore, Mark Healy, and Mark Vandenbosch.
During their acceptance speech, they noted the amazing work done before them by Dennis and the bright future ahead.
Courtland Bakery has been around, in some shape or form, since 1939 – taken over by current owners Mary and John Peazel back in 1977.
They won the Long Standing Businesses Award for 2022.
One of the big winners was Brandon Marques who was named Citizen of the Year.
This isn’t his first time being honoured by the Chamber, being a former Junior citizen, and he says he has a lot of people to thank for the person he is now.
Adrien Patenaude was also named Junior Citizen Of The Year but opted not to make a speech at the event.
The 2022 Scholarship winner was Dylan Logan with the runner-up being Landon Holden
While over the course of the past two years awards have been handed out, this was the return to an in person event – so the winners of 2020 and 2021 were also acknowledged.

2021 Long Standing Business Award – Canada Tobacco District Hungarian House, Delhi & District German Home, Delhi Polish Hall and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 125 –Delhi.
2020 Citizen of the Year – John McMahon
2020 Junior Citizen of the Year – Amberlee Morgan
2021 Citizens of the Year – Alice De Geyter and Archie Verspeeten.
2021 Junior Citizen of the Year – Josh Reick
