With the loss of Queen Elizabeth II and the accession of King Charles III, Canadians are rethinking how they view the monarchy and its relevance in a changing world.
Dr. Heather Nicol of Trent University, says such re-evaluation is timely and healthy.
Dr. Nicol feels that most share a respect for the Monarch’s endurance and the loss of a reign that we’ll never see again.
Dr. Nicol adds that she doesn’t see a dramatic change coming in how the monarchy views Canada’s place amongst the realm of nations it oversees.
