After several months as Haldimand-Norfolk’s first independent MPP, Bobbi Ann Brady tells Norfolk Today – she comes to the job with the benefit of tremendous mentoring from the ridings previous and long serving representative Toby Barrett.
Brady, the only independent MPP in Ontario says she experienced first day jitters but she’s getting the feel for Queens Park protocol and her place in the process.
While she’s a novice at Queen’s Park, Brady says as a person who lives in a rural area and hears from farmers on a regular basis, putting development over food production is dangerous.
Brady says some representatives of urban ridings don’t always make the connection between the food processing and transportation chain they see on their end – and the production of food in places like Haldimand Norfolk.
