When you want to get something done, you look to the busiest person.
That is an expression Lana Plank used during our interview, saying people come up to her all the time asking for assistance because they know she will get it done.
She wants to take those skills to a new level by running for the Ward 7 seat at council chambers.
Plank lives on the north end of Waterford, and she says one pressing issues she sees almost daily is people not easing up on the gas pedal.
There are other issues facing the county as a whole that she’d like to try and tackle as well, such as affordable housing.
Youth retention is also a concern for Plank.
Plank is also a champion for the culinary field, spending her life one way or another working or helping out through kitchens.
She endorses the idea of more community style kitchens, like the currently in develop Riversyde 83, and she believes proper cooking skills are highly needed.
It’s good for personal knowledge, but opens a big door for potential job opportunities as well.
