Norfolk County Council approved the zoning changes required for a 5-storey, 48-unit apartment building in Simcoe.
This decision came after ensuring that each apartment would be provided with 1.25 parking spaces.
That was Mayor Kristal Chopp, commenting on the fact that the initial report only accounted for one space per unit.
David Galbraith, the agent for the applicant, responded to her concerns.
He added that the open space to the back of the complex cannot be removed because of a protected river, and removing a unit would only be able to provide about one more parking space.
Along with the apartments, 62 townhouse units were approved for the Rob Blake Way property.
