For the past 4 years, Amy Martin has sat at Town Hall representing the people of Ward 6.
Now, as the municipal election approaches, she wants to continue to serve the community but in a larger role.
Over those years, Martin has sunk her teeth into politics and she feels important that people know the kind of person they are voting for.
That would be a woman who is adaptable, but when pushed towards something they cannot support, does not back down.
One of the unique things that Martin has continued to do since being elected is utilizing social media to stay connected to the community.
This could be a video or post on a controversial topic, or even a post council meeting debriefing with a Q and A section portion from the public.
When it comes to issues facing the county, Martin says everyone deserves clean water and development with the pressures that come with it.
Affordable housing and secondary dwelling units are important, as well looking at how Norfolk is being looked at both locally and abroad.
She said COVID-19 was nothing any councillor could have anticipated but is proud of how the community pulled through.
She said she is proud of transparency that was brought to council as well, and something she will continue to bring moving forward.
