Norfolk County has provided an update on the ongoing construction on the Queensway East bridge in Simcoe.
The Engineering Project Manager has confirmed the Const. John Verral Memorial Bridge is set to be completed in mid to late May.
The construction began in March 2021, replacing the south half of the bridge first, and now the north half.
Included in the project is the full replacement of the bridge superstructure, sidewalk replacement, reinstatement of the pedestrian path under the bridge, storm sewer outlet replacement, road and asphalt restoration, and associated traffic control.
The new bridge will have five lanes.
