The return of prom and graduation ceremonies means more expenses for families.
Tracy Maxwell-Renton is hoping to alleviate some of that pressure by offering free dresses to Grade 8 and Grade 12 girls.
The Simcoe woman said seeing happy faces as perfect fits are found keeps her doing this volunteer work.
She has been offering the program for about seven years, although she had to take the last two years off as dances and ceremonies were cancelled due to the pandemic.
Dresses are always being accepted for the program, but there are currently about 150 available for girls to choose from in a variety of sizes and styles.
The event will be held at the Kinsmen Club in Simcoe on Windham Street on April 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Maxwell-Renton extends her gratitude to the Kinsmen Club for providing the venue free of charge.
She was also grateful about others supporting the program.
She also noted girls from anywhere are able to come pick out a dress. While she does not ask or expect for the dresses to be returned, she said it would be appreciated so they can be used for years to come.

Maxwell-Renton added that she does not do suits or accessories, and some of the dresses may need to be dry-cleaned.
