A teenagers’ campaign for clean drinking water in Indigenous communities is the subject of a locally produced television documentary that airs Friday on Crave TV.
The Water Walker was produced by Seeing Red 6-Nations, an Indigenous-owned media company based on Six Nations of the Grand River Territory.
Narrator Graham Greene takes the viewer on a powerful journey with Autumn Peltier who was 15 years old when she travelled from Manitoulin Island to New York City to address the United Nations.
The documentary aims to raise awareness of an ongoing crisis that denies clean water for many First Nations communities. Autumn’s simple message to the world is, there is no future without clean water.
