A hockey game quickly came to an end at Talbot Gardens on Wednesday following an incident involving a coach.
In a video circulating on social media, it shows what appears to be the coach of the Tillsonburg U13 team picking a broken stick off of the ice and throwing it.
The video of the altercation is about 30 seconds long and includes the following audio, which we have altered to remove foul language.
Police were called to the arena and the game was stopped.
Acting Sgt. Ed Sanchuk confirmed that police did arrive and escorted the coach from the arena.
No injuries were reported and no charges were laid in the incident.
Sanchuk said this should be taken as a reminder that when you take on a role like a Coach, many eyes are on you ā from parents to your young team.
We have reached out to both teams for comments. The story will be updated as more information becomes available.
The full video can be viewed below. Please note the original video includes foul language.
Thanks for the game Tillsonburgš
