At the beginning of the year the Downtown Simcoe Homeless Solutions Roundtable started providing an pop up evening warming shelters.
However, Brian Jones says more was needed.
Jones notes that these are troubling times we are living through, but moment like this can give people home in humanity.
The goal is to keep the facility running as long as possible.
Jones says more information is available through the BIA and tax deductible donations can be made through Church Out Serving, who have been a downtown partner on this project.
The warming centre at First Baptist Church is open from 8:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. for those who need a warm place to sleep.
