With everything beginning to open back up, our local 69th Field Battery is reminding the public that there is a great way to either start a new career, or earn some extra cash, in their own backyard.
The 56th Field Regiment has a unique location located in Simcoe, where highschool students to adults looking for a new or second job can get some great training and meet some incredible people.
That was Captain Peter Davis says they are always willing to work with someone who walks through the door, from those who want to make this a full time job to those who are looking for something extra to add to their resume.
Warrant Officer Don Martin told us that once you join, it’s like joining a second family – having spending years growing beside individuals at Grigg Drive and beyond.
When you join up, you’ll never have to travel overseas or go to a military conflict – unless you wish to – but there is opportunity to travel locally to help out your country in a different way.
Martin talked about helping out with flooding and forest fires thanks to his role with our local 69th Field Battery.
For students who are listening to this, they do add that there is a co-op program as well.
Martin suggests you start the process early.
Anyone interested can contact the Grigg Drive location in Simcoe, or stop by on a Thursday night to speak with someone.
