An annual Christmas Tradition returns.
The Aitken Chevrolet Buick GMC Christmas Wish begins again today to help get gifts for kids in our community who may otherwise go without a present this Christmas.
Linda Cripps is the Dealer Principal for Aitken’s, and she said this idea started over a decade ago.
How it works is throughout the day, Monday to Friday, we here at the radio station will read the name of a child in our community and a gift they want for Christmas.
You give us a call if you can purchase that gift, and then you drop it off at the dealership once you’ve picked it up.
Like last year, they are also introducing the Angel Tree to the mix so that even more kids can get gifts.
This year, Cripps said they wanted to help out even more – understanding that a lot of families have struggled over the past year.
This “Food Mountain” will be on display at the dealership with non-perishable food items.
They are also working with the Salvation Army to stock up their pantry.
They have shopping lists for you to come and choose from, buy the food item, and once again bring it to the dealership and they will send it off to the Salvation Army.
Cripps said every year she is blown away by this community and is proud to expand the program even further.
