Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is continuing to investigate the death of a 70-year-old man in Norfolk County yesterday.
The Simcoe Reformer is reporting the deceased as Rodger Kotanko.
They also heard from neighbours that Kotanko was a gunsmith.
Members of Toronto Police Services attended a residence at around 12 p.m. on November 3 in the area of Highway 6 and 24 to execute a weapons-related search warrant. During the interaction an officer discharged his firearm.
The 70-year-old was pronounced deceased later that afternoon.
In a press release from the SIU, they say a post-mortem examination was conducted this morning, but the results were not published.
