A new infant warmer is coming to the West Haldimand Hospital.
A community fundraising effort, helped in large part by a final push at No Frills in Hagersville, helped the hospital reach their $25,000 goal.
An infant warmer is used to keep premature babies at a proper body temperature for up to four hours without electricity.
More importantly, the infant warmer could help save lives, especially for those born premature or with low birth weight.
This is especially important as the West Haldimand General does not typically deliver babies; however, the hospital still delivers unexpected or precipitous labour situations.
