A restaurant in Courtland under fire for allowing indoor dining following last Saturday’s protest in Simcoe.
Vivian’s Country Cookin’ was the site of a lunch between some of the main organizers of Saturday’s No More Lockdowns rally.
That’s according to a Facebook live video posted by Aylmer Church of God Pastor Henry Hindlebrant, who was joined by No More Lockdowns founder Randy Hillier.
The video shows the pair confront police stationed outside of the restaurant, and shows several cars in the parking lot.
Hindlebrant for his part describes them dining inside as a family like atmosphere.
Norfolk County bylaw tells us that as a result of recent allegations that a Norfolk County business premises was operating and allowing customers inside for service – a joint investigation by local police and Norfolk County By-Law took place.
Because of this, a charge was laid against the owner of the business Wednesday afternoon in violation of the Reopening Ontario Act.
Though bylaw did not name the restaurant, it did confirm its location in Courtland and was responding to us after specifically asking about the incident on Saturday.
We have reached out to Vivian’s Country Cookin’ for a comment regarding this, but have not heard back at this time.
We will update this story if we do receive a response back.
