They may have been walking separately, but they were united in purpose.
The coronavirus crimped the execution of this year’s Coldest Night of the Year event, however participants put their best foot forward to raise awareness of homelessness and poverty in the community.
While virtual in nature, Dan Avey, founder of Youth Unlimited in Simcoe, said there was no shortage of enthusiasm.
The walk was well received, but they did fall slightly short of their big goal.
Additionally, at the centre in Simcoe, they are also selling the Coldest Night Of The Year hats in order to raise the extra cash.
While $16,000 is a lot of money, that additional $4000 can make a world of difference.
Donations will be accepted until the end of March at cnoy.org/location/simcoe
