Laura Hitchon of This Little Light shows off the Be Kind shirt sold to raise money for G.I.R.L.S. Power Camp.
Two groups with the goal of empowerment have come together to help Grade 8 girls in Haldimand and Norfolk.
Laura Hitchon of This Little Light has raised enough money through her business to sponsor all Port Dover girls in Grade 8 to attend this year’s virtual G.I.R.L.S. Power Camp.
This Little Light started as a blog just over a year ago, and has since moved towards a clothing line.
This Little Light sold pink shirts with the message “Be Kind” on them ahead of the anti-bullying awareness Pink Shirt Day on February 24.
From each sale, $5 was put aside to donate to G.I.R.L.S. Power Camp.
Hitchon has not completed a final count but believes they are now between $800-900 raised for the camp.
