Liz Whiton and Eva Dixon have secured the two Grand Erie District School Board trustee seats representing Norfolk County’s Wards 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6, according to unofficial election results.
Whiton led with 6,396 votes, accounting for 39.90 per cent of votes cast in the race.
Dixon followed with 5,626 votes, or 35.09 per cent, while John Harris received 4,010 votes, or 25.01 per cent.
The result returns incumbent Whiton to the board and brings Dixon back to a role she has held previously.
Whiton spent 35 years with Grand Erie as a teacher, consultant and principal before becoming a trustee.
During the campaign, she highlighted support for students with special education needs and the effects of classroom integration on students and staff.
Dixon previously served three terms with the former Norfolk Board of Education and two terms with Grand Erie. She campaigned on strengthening classroom support, particularly through educational assistants.
Harris emphasized helping families navigate the education system, supporting student achievement and well-being, and preserving a strong local voice in education decisions.
The results remain unofficial pending confirmation by the Norfolk County Clerk.
