Kids in Simcoe will continue to have a fun way to beat the heat for many summers to come.
That was Dennis Travale from the Simcoe Kin Club speaking to council last week.
The splash pad has been a community favourite since opening alongside a fully accessible playground, but nearly two decades of use have led to wear and tear.
Travale said they were able to raise a portion of the money by collecting beer and pop cans and bottles.
He says that even though they reached their target for the splash pad, they are continuing to take in these items.
Travale said the hope is repairs could get underway in time for the Splash Pad to reopen in all it’s glory this coming spring.
