Norfolk County is reminding residents that most County services and all County buildings will be closed on Labour Day, Monday, September 7.
County administration buildings, ServiceNorfolk, libraries, museums, the Norfolk County Archives, recreation facilities, arenas, transfer stations and Ride Norfolk will all be closed. Fire and Paramedic Services will continue operating as usual, while Norfolk County parks, trails and marinas will remain open for public use.
Waste collection will also be affected by the holiday. Collection in Simcoe will continue on its regular schedule, while residents elsewhere in Norfolk County will see their collection delayed by one day.
Residents can still submit non-urgent service requests and general inquiries online through ServiceNorfolk. For urgent issues involving roads, water, sewer, waste, parks, facilities, forestry or drainage, residents can call 1-877-298-5888. By-law concerns during the closure can be directed to the OPP non-emergency line at 1-888-310-1122.
Electronic resources from the Norfolk County Public Library, including eBooks, audiobooks, online learning and streaming movies and music, will remain available 24/7.
For housing and social services crisis support, including emergency accommodation, residents can call the Victim Services Support Line at 1-800-264-6671.
