Norfolk County is reminding residents of the rules surrounding fireworks as people prepare to celebrate the Labour Day long weekend.
Under the County’s Fireworks Regulating By-Law, fireworks are permitted two days before and one day after Labour Day. Fireworks can only be discharged until 11 p.m., meaning residents planning to set them off on the holiday Monday must do so before the cutoff.
Fireworks cannot be discharged on municipal property or roadways. Anyone using fireworks must also own the property where they are being discharged or have permission from the property owner.
