A popular medically supported camp in Waterford is preparing to welcome twice as many campers next year.
Campfire Circle Rainbow Lake celebrated its revitalization project Wednesday with donors, supporters and families gathering to mark the next chapter for the camp.
That was CEO Alex Robertson.
He then made the announcement that the camp’s capacity will increase soon.
Rainbow Lake provides medically supported camp programs for children with cancer and other serious illnesses, as well as their families.
Campfire Circle says its programs are offered at no cost to families, with the organization working to provide children with opportunities to build friendships, confidence and resilience while experiencing the joys of camp.
The expansion is part of an effort to meet growing demand for medically supported camp experiences.
The organization has also highlighted the importance of Rainbow Lake to the Waterford community, with local residents, volunteers and service groups helping support the camp and the families who attend it.
