Three more candidates entered Norfolk County’s municipal election races on the final day of nominations.
The nomination period officially closed Friday, August 21, with several last-minute additions to the ballot.
Ken Gilpin filed his papers to run for mayor on Friday, adding another name to the race for Norfolk County’s top political job.
There were also late additions at the ward level. Drew Hemsley entered the race for Ward 4 councillor, while Mike Storoschuk filed to run in Ward 5.
Norfolk County’s clerk will review and certify the nominations by 4 p.m. today, August 24. The certified list of candidates will be posted publicly afterward.
Norfolk County voters will head to the polls in the 2026 municipal election on October 26.
