The Six Nations Chiefs and Peterborough Lakers are getting ready to renew one of Canadian lacrosse’s biggest rivalries.
The two teams will open the 2026 Major Series Lacrosse Finals tonight (August 18), at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena. Game time is 8 p.m.
This marks the sixth straight year the Chiefs and Lakers have met for the MSL championship and the 10th time in the past 11 years.
Both teams have enjoyed plenty of success during that stretch. Peterborough has won five MSL championships and four Mann Cups, while Six Nations has captured five MSL titles and five Mann Cups.
The winner of the best-of-seven MSL Finals will also earn the right to host this year’s Mann Cup, Canada’s senior men’s box lacrosse championship.
The MSL champion will face either the Victoria Shamrocks or Coquitlam Adanacs from the Western Lacrosse Association, with the Mann Cup scheduled to begin September 11.
Following Tuesday’s opener, the Chiefs and Lakers head to Peterborough for Game 2 on Thursday night. The series returns to Six Nations for Game 3 on Sunday at 7 p.m.
