The Simcoe Farmers’ Market is celebrating the people who keep it going with its annual Customer Appreciation Day this Thursday.
The event takes place August 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., although the market itself will open for regular shopping at 8 a.m.

The celebration means activities are planned throughout the day for customers of all ages.
This includes local 4-H members on hand with animals, while another 4-H group will be selling sausages and providing information about the organization.
Customers can also take part in a draw and enjoy ice cream from Breyers.
The market’s vendors will also be getting involved.
Individual vendors will be offering special deals, giveaways or other ways of thanking their regular customers.
Hahn says Customer Appreciation Day is truly about recognizing the people who make the market possible.
The market relies on customers choosing to shop locally, and she say the event is an opportunity to give something back to the people who return week after week.
Hahn also see the farmers’ market as an opportunity for customers — particularly children — to learn where their food comes from and how much work goes into producing it.
Vendors can talk directly with shoppers about their products and the work behind them.
That could mean learning about raising bees and extracting honey, or finding out how maple sap is collected, boiled and turned into syrup.
Customer Appreciation Day will take place at the Simcoe Farmers’ Market on Thursday, August 13, with activities running from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The regular market opens at 8 a.m.
