The Ontario Provincial Police have laid additional charges against a Haldimand County man as part of an ongoing child sexual exploitation investigation.
Police say the investigation began in April, when members of the Haldimand County OPP Crime Unit, with assistance from the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, Digital Forensics Unit and Provincial Animal Welfare Services, arrested and charged an individual in connection with an online child luring investigation.
Since the initial arrest, investigators say the ongoing investigation has resulted in the identification of additional victims in both Canada and the United States.
As a result, 27-year-old Christopher Petley of Haldimand County is now facing several additional Criminal Code charges.
Those charges include possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, three counts of luring a child by means of telecommunications, four counts of making child sexual abuse and exploitation material, and four counts of making available child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
Petley is also facing charges of bestiality and resisting arrest.
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on Tuesday, September 8th.
