A 38-year-old Oxford County resident has died following a collision between a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle in Tillsonburg on Monday evening.
Members of the Oxford Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, along with Tillsonburg Fire Services and Oxford County Paramedic Services, responded to the crash on Simcoe Street shortly after 5 p.m. on August 3.
According to investigators, the collision occurred when a motorcycle struck the rear of an SUV.
The impact ejected the motorcyclist, who suffered life-threatening injuries. The rider was transported to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
Police said the driver of the SUV was not injured in the collision.
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or was travelling along Simcoe Street around the time of the incident to come forward.
Officers are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have dash camera footage or video surveillance showing either the motorcycle or SUV prior to the collision.
