One person has died and another has suffered serious injuries following a single-vehicle crash north of Selkirk.
The Ontario Provincial Police Haldimand County Detachment, along with fire and paramedic services, responded to the collision on Haldimand Road 53 shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday.
Police say a vehicle left the roadway, entered the ditch and rolled over. One occupant was pronounced deceased at the scene, while a second person was transported to a local hospital before being airlifted by Ornge to a Hamilton hospital with serious injuries.
The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team is assisting with the investigation.
Haldimand Road 53 between Concession 2 and Concession 3 remains closed while police investigate. Officers are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash camera or surveillance footage involving the vehicle to contact Haldimand County OPP.
