The province is inviting nominations for the 2026 Excellence in Agriculture Awards, recognizing the farmers, processors, organizations and businesses helping strengthen the province’s agri-food sector.
The awards celebrate leaders who contribute to Ontario’s nearly $53-billion agriculture and food industry, while supporting food independence and reinforcing the province’s role as a global producer.
Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness Minister Trevor Jones says the success of the sector is driven by the passion, innovation and hard work of people across the province.
He says the awards highlight those helping keep Ontario competitive, drive economic growth and maintain its position as a leader in agriculture.
The province will recognize recipients in 10 categories, including Research and Innovation Excellence, Agribusiness Excellence, Education Excellence, Promotional Excellence, Urban Agriculture Excellence and Northern Business Excellence.
Other categories include Indigenous, Métis or Inuit-Owned Business or Indigenous, Métis or Inuit Community Group Excellence, Women’s Farming Excellence, Youth Excellence and Farm Family Excellence.
Nominations are open until September 4, 2026. Farmers, businesses, organizations and individuals can submit their own nomination or nominate someone else.
The Excellence in Agriculture Awards are part of Ontario’s Grow Ontario Strategy, which aims to showcase locally grown and produced food while recognizing the economic contributions of the agri-food sector.
