Norfolk County is inviting residents to nominate individuals and groups for the 2026 Dogwood Awards, recognizing those who help preserve, promote and celebrate the community’s heritage and culture.
Established in 2007 and named after Norfolk County’s official flower, the Dogwood Awards honour people and organizations whose work helps protect local history and strengthen the county’s cultural identity for future generations.
Awards are presented in four categories: Individual, Group, Lifetime Achievement and Youth for nominees under the age of 18.
The county is encouraging residents to recognize volunteers, community organizations, educators, museums and young people whose efforts have made a lasting impact through historical preservation, cultural programming, education or community initiatives.
Nominations are open until September 30, 2026.
Nomination forms are available online at norfolkheritage.ca/awards and at the Delhi Tobacco Museum & Heritage Centre, Norfolk County Archives, Port Dover Harbour Museum and Waterford Heritage & Agricultural Museum.
Recipients of the 2026 Dogwood Awards will be recognized during a ceremony in June 2027, with more details to be announced at a later date.
