A new grassroots outreach program is using a shared love of racing to connect young men with positive role models and practical life skills.
Horsepower Haven Outreach was founded by Brandon Goodfellow, who said his life experiences and faith, inspired him to create the organization.
The program welcomes young men of all backgrounds, whether they are interested in motorsports or simply looking for encouragement and support. Participants meet on Friday evenings at the group’s race shop or at the track, where they learn mechanical skills, teamwork and responsibility alongside experienced mentors.
Goodfellow said the goal is to create a welcoming environment where positive relationships develop naturally.
The outreach has already attracted several young participants and about eight volunteer mentors. Parents and grandparents are also encouraged to reach out if they know someone who could benefit.
Horsepower Haven is still in its early stages, but Goodfellow hopes it will continue to grow with community support.
