Norfolk County OPP say this year’s Pottahawk Sunday event drew hundreds of boats to the popular gathering spot, with no major incidents reported despite several enforcement actions.
Police on land issued 32 charges under the Highway Traffic Act during the annual event.
Marine officers also remained busy, laying one impaired operation charge, 10 charges under the Canada Shipping Act, and 12 under the Liquor Licence and Control Act.
Norfolk County OPP credited the overall safety of the event to the cooperation of attendees and the coordinated response from emergency services.
Police say the presence of emergency responders throughout the event helped ensure a quick response to any incidents and contributed to the overall safety of those attending.
