Norfolk County Council has a busy Council-in-Committee meeting scheduled for today (Tuesday, July 14), with topics ranging from waste collection and fire services to infrastructure projects and planning matters.
The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. in Council Chambers at the Norfolk County Administration Building and will be livestreamed on the County’s website.
Council will receive presentations on the County’s 2025 audited financial statements, investment results and a proposed Administrative Monetary Penalty System (AMPS), which would allow some bylaw violations to be handled through administrative penalties instead of the court system.
Staff reports include a proposed fire apparatus replacement schedule, an update on the Simcoe Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion and a review of curbside waste collection services for condominiums, seasonal properties and private roads.
Council will also consider vacant agricultural lot severances, an energy conservation update, a budget amendment for the Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre pool deck replacement, and repealing heritage-related by-laws affecting 45 Peel Street and 841 Norfolk Street North in Simcoe.077
Deputations are scheduled for 2 p.m., followed by a closed session to discuss the Woodway Trail Ontario Land Tribunal file and the Port Dover Public Works Yard facilities review.
