Police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a break-and-enter that caused extensive damage to a property in Simcoe.
Members of the Norfolk County OPP responded to a property on South Drive at about 8:05 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, after receiving a report of a break-and-enter.
Investigators determined that sometime overnight, one or more unknown suspects forcibly entered a building on the property, damaging the exterior during the break-in.
Once inside, the suspect or suspects discharged several fire extinguishers throughout the building, causing extensive vandalism.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police are working to identify those responsible.
The Norfolk County OPP is asking anyone with information about the incident or anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area during the overnight hours to contact police at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers.
