A wanted Norfolk County man is facing several charges after an arrest in Simcoe over the weekend.
The Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police say an officer on patrol spotted a person wanted on an outstanding warrant at about 9:02 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Grove Street and Queen Street South.
Police say the individual was arrested without incident. A search following the arrest allegedly uncovered a quantity of suspected cocaine, drug trafficking paraphernalia and an edged weapon.
As a result, 33-year-old Travis Jacobs has been charged with two counts of failing to comply with a probation order, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and obstructing a peace officer.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on August 18.
