Homeowners in Haldimand and Norfolk can now apply for financial assistance through the Ontario Renovates program to help pay for essential home repairs and accessibility improvements.
The program provides up to $15,000 as a 10-year interest-free forgivable loan for approved repairs. Homeowners may also qualify for a grant of up to $5,000 for accessibility modifications, which does not need to be repaid.
Eligible repairs include structural work, heating, electrical and plumbing upgrades, fire safety improvements, and accessibility modifications that help residents remain safely in their homes.
To qualify, applicants must own and live in a home in Haldimand or Norfolk as their primary residence, be at least 18 years old, have a household income of $120,800 or less, household assets of $50,000 or less, and a home assessed at less than $705,833.
The program is not available to homeowners who have already received federal or provincial funding for home purchases or repairs, owners of rental or investment properties, or applicants who exceed the income or asset limits.
Applications are open until July 24, 2026. Funding is limited, with priority given to urgent repairs. Applicants must submit all required documents with their application.
